New attack operator - Sens
The new operator Sens will be part of the newly announced Wolfguard team and brings a new gadget that covers lines of sight, providing the same function as a smoke grenade in a creative way. The gadget is called an ROU light wheel and it applies wall projections on whatever it touches. There’s a limit to how far it can go but it will bounce off walls so it’s going to create unique opportunities for attackers to advance. Sens also comes with a new weapon, the POF-9 assault rifle.
Here’s the complete loadout for Sens.
Gadget: ROU light wheel (3)
Primary guns: POF-9 assault rifle (New), 417 DMR
Secondary guns: SDP 9mm, Gonne 6
Secondary gadgets: Hardbreach, claymores
Sens is a 3 health, 1 speed operator.
New team deathmatch map - Close Quarter
Close Quarter will be the first map not designed for traditional play as it’s created to give players a chaotic space to just go nuts. Team deathmatch is being treated as a way Siege players can warm up before jumping in, let's say Ranked, and they are supporting that idea with the release of Close Quarters.
Quality of life improvements
Reverse Friendly fire changes
The reverse friendly fire, a feature intended to discourage griefing in Siege, is being updated with a more severe penalty as players still go out of their way to negatively ruin the player experience even with this feature
If you continue to provide a negative experience, the game will now apply the reverse friendly fire feature active for multiple matches until you stop being an ass to other players. To those that don’t know how reverse friendly fire works - with this feature active, if you shoot or kill a teammate, the damage you do will also be applied to you.
Privacy mode will now be available to the public
Privacy mode, which has been available to certain Siege content creators for a few months now, is now going live for the public, giving players the opportunity to further hide your identity like changing your nickname shown in a match, hide your avatar, region and latency, even rename your other teammates.
Here are the other quality of life changes mentioned during the Operation Vector Glare reveal:
Changes to match cancellation.
Tactical Timeouts can be directly called in online competitions in all custom games.
Changes to screen shake intensity available.
Operator guide - Operator tutorial videos
Privacy Mode (streamer mode) available for all.
Shooting range is coming
Operation Vector Glare will introduce a shooting range for players to test out the many weapons available in the game to get a feel of the loadout of the weapon, its recoil, and their effectiveness in different ranges. Each player will have access to all operators, even those you don’t own, giving you a chance to try out their loadout to see if it’s for you.
This is also a great space to try out the different weapon balance changes that get implemented.
Select operators will have a third secondary weapon option
Some operators in Operation Vector Glare will have a third secondary weapon option. Operators mentioned are Kali, Clash, Finka, Lion, and more will have more options on what they can bring as a secondary.
Squad Up Program announced
A new incentive program will be introduced in Vector Glare and it’s the Squad Up program – enticing players currently playing the game to play with players that have yet to play Siege in Year 7.
Every friend that you bring back and play five matches (any game mode will do) will earn you rewards like a Year 6 operator, skins, and more. Those invited to play Siege again will also be given a reward for coming back. The player that was invited to play Siege again will then be eligible to invite their inactive friends to earn rewards as well.
Operation Vector Glare will hit Ubisoft’s season test servers starting May 24, giving eager players a chance to try out all the new content planned for the next season.
The reveal of Operation Vector Glare ended with the announcement of a Yakuza-theme bundle featuring skins for Hibana as Kaoru Sayama and Echo as Kazuma Kiryu.
Operation Vector Glare is expected to go live on June 7, 2022.
