Wayfinder To Have a PS5 and PC Closed Beta Test on February 28
/During Sony’s first State of Play of 2023, developer Airship Syndicate announced that they will host a closed beta test for their online action RPG game called Wayfinder on PS5 and PC. Registrations are now open for those interested.
You can take a shot at getting access to the closed beta by visiting Wayfinder’s official website and registering for either the PS5 or PC version of the game.
The closed beta will be available on February 28, so if you signed up, expect invites to start rolling out sometime next week. They didn’t go into detail on what to expect from the beta.
Wayfinder Early Access coming this May
Wayfinder will be entering Early Access for not only PC but exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 sometime in May. The Early Access is expected to last for months as the developers expect the game to fully release later this year.
Those interested in getting in on the Early Access version of the game in May will need to purchase the game’s Founder Pack.
Here’s how Airship Syndicates describes the Founder Pack on their website.
“The Founder’s Packs are our way of putting together the final pieces of the game in place in cooperation with our most dedicated supporters! We want to reward these Wayfinders not only with Early Access to the game, but also with unique and valuable items that will never be able to be obtainable outside these packs. Multiple tiers will be available allowing player choice, as well as upgrades. Each tier includes awesome and exclusive items such as cosmetics, pets, mounts and more, check out the preview below.”
Wayfinder will be updated in the form of seasons and the first two will be available during the game’s Early Access period. Each season’s expected to last three months, so at the very least Early Access will last for around six months. Seasons will feature new weapons and seasonal events as well as new challenges called Lost Zone expeditions, as well as cosmetic items and other rewards.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
