Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Launching On Consoles Next Week
/Developer Wolcen Studio announced that their action RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 15, 2023. This version of the game will ship with the latest major patch that will add the game’s Act 4.
Act 4 coming in patch 1.1.7.0
This action RPG went through a lot. Since it first hit Steam Early Access in 2016 and officially launched on February 13, 2020, the game has received mixed reviews as it was praised for its visuals and interesting enemy variety but fell short in providing a satisfying endgame game loop that many look for in these types of games.
I played Wolcen and it did scratch that action RPG itch when going through the game’s campaign. The only problem was there wasn’t a strong incentive to keep playing and enough interesting possibilities to really incentivize experimentation with the game’s itemization.
But the developer is still pressing on with constant updates as the studio continues to think long-term with new content and seasonal activities. The team is focused to launch its biggest update with patch 1.1.7.0, which will add the game’s fourth and final Act. The patch will also come with balance changes to almost all aspects of its gameplay from skills, active skill modifiers, experience, and more. The patch will also introduce Japanese localization.
The game is currently discounted by 75% on Steam to celebrate the release of the game on consoles and will run until March 14.
This update will be free to all players on every platform and should be available once Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem hits consoles next week.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
