Manila Cup 2015 - Part of the Capcom Pro Tour

DSC3584.jpg

Manila Cup just happened at the Imperium eSports Bar where many fighting games were played. Not only could you earn points to qualify for the Capcom Pro Tour at Ultra Street Fighter IV but there were many other games you could compete in for cash prizes and the respect of your FGC peers. A ton of players from various countries such as Japan, China and Hong Kong also came over to compete and their matches did not disappoint. M. Bison and Sub-Zero taking their time from world domination plans to commentate some matches

We were able to attend the event to watch the top 4s and top 8s live. I myself took part in the Super Smash Bros. for WiiU tournament and was present for all 3 days. There were so many great matches that put me on the edge of my seat through out the weekend. It was crazy fun and I got to meet a lot of great people both new and old.

Video GamesYou can check out more photos of the event on our Facebook page and here are some of the stream archives of the tournament on Xsplit's twitch channel.

Family Feudin' | Return of the Prodigal Bud

dat photoshop There's nothing better than having fun with your family and friends. Here at TooMuchGaming we like to have fun by playing video games.

My cousin just came home from his summer vacation in America. He passed by here since he dropped by his school (which is near my place) and brought his two brothers along with him and what perfect way to celebrate his return then by letting the salt flow in a couple of fighting games.

First up was of course Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the fighting game that brings the most salt and yet is still the hypest thing around. We maybe scrubs but we love this game. After that was a little bit of Street Fighter x Tekken. 4-player scrable mode equals mayhem. A little bit of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike was played but we didn't hang there long. I also had them try out Skullgirls but wasn't streamed because I had display setup the wrong way.

After all the fighting games we went into one of the best 4-player games out there, NBA JAM. I have NBA JAM: On Fire Edition saved on my PS3 and we used to play the bejeezus out of NBA JAM on the Wii. With some awkward games at the start since we had to adjust ourselves with the PS3's controls, we eventually got the hang of things (for the most part) and had a blast. I know it may not be the most entertaining thing to watch but I archived what was streamed to my personal youtube channel and made a playlist for them.

These games weren't played in sequence since we switched things up but I grouped the games together to avoid confusion. Part 1 for both UMvC3 and NBA JAM I forgot to change the audio source to my laptop microphone so that's why you'll hear game audio, skip to part 2 to hear us being stupid while having hella fun.

I used Flash Media Live Encoder to stream this with the video bitrate set to only 350kbps due to my low upload speed (0.47kbps) but the videos are still very watchable. Just don't expect anything remotely close to HD.

Nothing beats local multiplayer

local multiplayer With everything connected to the internet, from cellphones to toilets, communation today was very different from what I grew up with.

People playing video games with each other from the comforts of their own home is a very normal thing nowadays. I was never really an online player, mainly because I didn't have the right tools to do so, but during my NES, SNES and PS1 days me and my neighbors would go to each others houses to play video games. If it wasn't a fighting game of some of the few good co-op games, we'd go just to watch and help them play an RPG or a single player adventure game.

Local gaming is at it's best when playing a fighting game. Most fighting games in this day and age require precise inputs, movements and timing but when played online the slightest input lag can determine the winner from the loser.

Me and my cousin finally got to play Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 together and with me getting a 2nd controller just the other day was perfect. Here is the broadcast footage of the fights. We are in no way pros in this, you couldn't even call use casuals but we enjoy a good air combo or two.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC Costumes

hadouhadouken Aside from the new added color palettes to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Capcom will be releasing full on costume changes as DLC. The 1st 12 on the left were revealed earlier this year while some appeared in gameplay videos. Since this is the internet, people have pieced together all the other DLC costumes into one big picture.

I totally geeked out for some of these costumes. X may not be in the game but Zero gets a full on X costume and I think that should calm Mega Man fans down a bit for the lack of Blue Bomber in the game. Frank West also gets an X costume of sorts, looks more like a grunt from some 80s scifi flick though.

I'm not going to name all since I barely know half of the references for these costumes.

But to name a few you got Ryu's Fighting Street red hair and red shoes. Chris and Wesker's Resident Evil outfits as well as Jill's Resident Evil 3 clevage top. Morrigan's casual friday clothes. Amaterasu stole the skin of that wolf dude from Dark Stalkers. C. Viper in.... something. Viewtiful Joe in "Joe" mode (Pre-Henshin a Go Go Baby). Chun-Li's sexy Street Fighter Alpha tights and Phoenix Wright totally sporting his "I heart Feenie" shirt that he wears during a flash back in Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations.

On the marvel side we have a mohawk Storm, X-23 in her (I would like to say) X-Men Evolution look. Scarlet Spider for Spidey-man (woot). World War Hulk is in there, A more classic Sentinel. Doom in his swim gear. Phoenix in her 90's Jean Grey outfit (nice). Deadpool wearing Cable's belts... and hair. To top it all off we got an Elvis M.O.D.O.K.

It looks pretty sick and has all the new characters added into the game plus old favorites.

It's an awesome intro video, and honestly the longest I've seen for a fighting game. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 should be out now for the US and hopefully here too. In other areas, The game will be out in Japan on the 17th, Europe on the 18th.
