Kirby Mass Attack

Looks like the DS hasn't been completely forgotten yet.

Known as Atsumete! Kirby in Japan, you take control of not 1, not 2, but what looks to be up to 7 (maybe more) Kirbys at the same time. From the trailer, it looks like you control them via the touchscreen. You can attack, jump, or direct the little marshmallows by tapping, draggin and flicking the touchscreen using the stylus.

I'm glad to see that Nintendo is still giving the DS some love by releasing new games for it. To all you 3DS owners, don't forget that it's backwards compatible with DS games.

Kirby Mass Attack is schedules for release on September 19, 2011 in North America.

Weekend, what are you playing?

Sadle up! It's time for the weekend post!

Migoy: Finally got to try out Marvel vs. Capcom 3. A friend of mine just bought a 2nd hand copy of it today and oh man, what fun that game is, plus it looks gorgeous in HD, everything is so smooth and crisp while keeping a constant 60fps. Since I was out, all I had with me was my PSP. Still playing Gundam Memories on it. I've done 71% of the missions but I'm sure I've still got a ways to go before completing the game. For my Sunday, I'm gonna try to finish up a model kit I've been putting off for more than a month now but I've got some games I want to try out such as Eternal Darkness for the GameCube and Robot Alchemic Drive for the PS2.

Quash: Going back old school!! playing Xenogears every chance i get. It's a great game. One of my personal favorites back in the PSone days.  This is Squaresoft at it's best besides their famous Final Fantasy franchise. I'm currently 10 hours in, and it's addicting as ever. It had an amazing gameplay, and if I remember correctly, the story was pretty solid too. Aside from Xenogears, I've been playing around with the games i bought in PSN. So far, everything is worth every buck except one. We had 10 bucks left, and we decided on Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. In short, not worth 10 bucks.

Weekend, what are you playing?

Ah finally, the weekend is here. You know the drill. What are you playing?

Migoy: I've been blowing up some stuff in Gundam Memories on my PSP. I thought I was close to being done with that game until I saw the game completion percentage so I still need to spend some more time with that. I've also starter Bully on the PS2. I have never played Bully before but I heard it's one of the best Rockstar games out there. People often list it with Red Dead Redemption and GTA San Andreas. I'm having fun with it so far though I am still very early in the game. I'll most likely be broadcasting it on our live channel so check in and see if I'm on the feed.

Quash: Just got back from a road trip to Baguio City so my gaming this weekend was pretty low. My friend brought his 3DS so gaming was still present even on a road trip. Played his game file of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which by the way looks amazing on the 3DS. The 3Ds is an amazing handheld. The 3D in the device is actually top notch, but with it, it lessened my game time since the 3D got my eyes tired. It's the first time i tried the 3D feature so my eyes wasn't used to it. I also played some Excite Bike 3D on the 3DS, Still an addicting game.

Arlie: Sorry for the late update, I haven't played that much video games this week. I just redeemed my free PS3 games from PSN Japan when their Store was back up the other day. I got Echochrome and Hustler King (Hustle Kings in US) from the Japanese PlayStation Store for free. I am working on a not-so-secret project for TMG, that involves geekery and dorkness.

A Final Fantasy rhythm game?

This week's Jump magazine showed off a very unique looking Final Fantasy game. Now I know many of you will argue that half of most of the Final Fantasy experience is the music. But the music has always been in the background, indirectly fueling the heat of battle or soothing your soul when you wander around town.

Square Enix is looking to bring the music to the forefront this time in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. The game is said to contain the traditional dungeon-crawling, town-wandering, monster battling but with a musical twist.

From the picture, the game looks to incorporate the characters' 'Dissidia' look. If you take a gander at the title, you'll even see Cosmos and Chaos.

The game is hitting Nintendo 3DS at an as-yet unspecified time. This sounds like the sort of game that is weird enough to just stay in Japan and be forgotten by the West, but last month Siliconera spotted that Square Enix had filed a trademark for the name "Theatrhythm" in Europe and North America, suggesting the game will see a worldwide release.

One Piece: Gigant Battle

"fuckyeahqualityassurance!"

Could it be? An english One Piece game?!

I find it weird that they localize this game now. I mean the graphics look the same as Jump Superstars but with less characters.

I guess if you REALLY like One Piece then maybe check this game out (Jump Superstars was sooo good, I just can't read Japanese) because this is probably the closest we'll get to an english Jump Superstars.
