Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes gets a release date

mgsvgz_ss_demo_001 Excited for a new Metal Gear title? Well Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was just dated for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Konami also released two new trailers to go with the release date. Check it out after the bump.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be launched on March 18, 2014. Take note that Ground Zeroes is the prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Think of it as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue way back.

With the announcement of the release date, they also released new trailers for the game. The Night trailer is a long demonstration, revealing that the game will have two difficulty settings - normal and hard.

This trailer features an Xbox exclusive DLC content that makes the cyborg ninja Raiden a playable character in this mission. How's that possible? Let's not think about it too much, this is Metal Gear Solid after all.

It will be live-streamed in most devices, such as Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Twitch, iOS, Android, VGXLive.com, Hulu, Yahoo Screen, the Yahoo Screen app, and Viacom properties Spike.com, ComedyCentral.com, MTV.com, MTV2.com, BET.com, and last but not least GameTrailers.com

Will we see a next-gen title reveal that would push us to the next gen corner? Tune in on December 7 at 6 p.m. Eastern / 3 p.m. Pacific and run through 9 p.m. Eastern / 6 p.m. Pacific.

15 minutes of Killzone: Shadow Fall gameplay

Killzone-Shadow-Fall-5 OPM released a new gameplay video of Killzone: Shadow Fall, a PS4 exclusive showing a section of the game being approached differently. Have a look below.

I've always liked Killzone, and it's no doubt the game looks visually stunning. What's shown in the video isn't really the different ways to play the game, but more like the different paths that will be available to you, encouraging players to explore and think on how it's going to be played out.  A good addition, but nothing groundbreaking. That robot though is pretty neat.

Killzone: Shadow Fall will be available on launch day with the PS4 on November 15 for North America and November 29 for Europe. Jumping in on next-gen on the first day? Or are you going to wait it out to play it safe? Let us know in the comments below.

Delayed: Watch Dogs and Driveclub pushed to 2014

delayed cover This was bound to happen. We are entering a next generation of gaming, developers will feel the pressure and will be forced to ask for more time. This sadly has happened to two titles planned to be launch titles- Watch Dogs, a multi-platform modern sandbox and PS4's exclusive racer Driveclub, both pushed for a 2014 release.

First up is Watch Dogs. Why the push? Ubisoft simply needs the extra time in polishing the game. It's a new IP, I get it. I actually want this to be a new franchise to succeed for the European publisher. What's disappointing is that this is one of the big titles that would make me consider either a PS4 or a Xbox 360. With my PC's current setup, I won't be able to hit that extra high setting, so I was considering the early jump for next-gen to experience Watch Dogs in the best quality possible. Now without Watch Dogs, I'm finding it hard to justify going day one with next-gen consoles.

Next title is Driveclub, which has been push from its November 15 release to an early 2014 release. This was another disappointment because this stunning racing game was planned to be the first free game PS4 game for PlayStation Plus members. Since it was delayed, Sony replaces it with Contrast, Complusion's puzzle platformer of light and shadow free to download on November 15. Sony is also throwing in a "Open Weekend" trial of Killzone: Shadow Fall for PlayStation Plus members on December 28 to 29.

Delays are a pain but again- It's a next-gen console launch. We're anxious to get our hands on the consoles, while launch title developers are freaking out because launch is only weeks away.

Watch Dogs is now placed on a Spring 2014 release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. While Driveclub is now on an early 2014 release exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Thief debut gameplay trailer

Thief6 Square Enix released a new trailer for Thief, showcasing the game's core gameplay. This is a reboot of the Thief series and it's looking pretty good and familiar at the same time.

The video shows Garret taking a job from an old friend; to steal the lion's heart. You see him infiltrate, steal, and escape without a hitch...well mostly.

Don't hold your breathe with this one, Thief will be released on February 25, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. February is looking to be a crowded month.
