E3 2016: What Was Revealed At The Sony Press Conference?
/Sony ends day 2 of the press conference and boy did they not disappoint. In recent years, Sony has become a press conference that constantly throws titles at you with no stopping. This year, they did not change the formula at all.
Kratos Is Back! God of War Announced
What a way to start the show. An older Kratos with a son that can't shoot very well. The moment we saw this iconic character it's already a different direction for the franchise. For one, it no longer has the fixed camera found in the previous games. Oh, and he has a "rage mode".
Days Gone Announced
Another post-apocalyptic setting. It gives a Last of Us feel, but this one is an Open-world title. Interesting stuff and it's said to be from the developers of Siphon Filter.
The Last Guardian Is Actually Coming Out
No joke. we get a new trailer and we get a release date - October 25, 2016.
Horizon Zero Dawn Gets A New Gameplay Trailer
It's unfortunate this is no longer a 2016 title, but the new gameplay shown during the press conference sparked more interest for us specifically because of the way we get to fight these robotic beasts. Guerrilla Games' latest project is slated for a February 28, 2017 for the PS4.
Detroit: Become Human Gets A new Trailer
We get a new look at Detroit and it's a game about choice. The trailer shows the many outcomes for a given situation. Not much information but we do get introduced to a new character.
Resident Evil 7 Announced, Back To It's Roots?
This was an interesting reveal since it starts very similar to that interactive demo called P.T. It's in first-person perspective suggesting VR and it has a very errie setting. At the end we get the Resident Evil 7 pop in the screen. If this really is the franchise going back to it's roots, count us on board.
PlayStation VR Gets Price And Release Date
The remaining VR device finally has a release date an price. It will be out on October 13, 2016 with a price tag of $399.
PlayStation VR Games
Soon after the announcement of PlayStation VR's release date, they showcased the many games planned. Expect 50 to be released from the release of the device up until the end of the year.
Farpoint
Batman: Arkham VR
Final Fantasy XV VR Experience
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Gameplay Trailer
After VR, we are given some gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Grappling hook is the new IT thing apparently.
Crash Bandicoot is coming back to PlayStation!...sort of
The stage becomes a backdrop of everything Crash Bandicoot and people, us included, were excited! Is this a new Crash game? Not exactly. Sony seems to be hard at work in getting the Crash Bandicoot franchise back to their side from Activision and they seem to have some sort of deal in place. For one, the first three Crash Bandicoot games will be remastered for the PS4, and that Crash Bandicoot himself will makes it's debut in the latest Skylanders game - Skylanders: Imaginators. Better than nothing I guess.
Lego Star Wars Episode 7 Trailer
We then get Lego Star Wars Episode 7. The humor found in these Lego games seem to be intact and it will be out on June 28.
Hideo Kojima Introduces His New Game - Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima is back! He joins the Sony Press conference to reveal his new game currently in the works. It's called Death Stranding which stars Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame. It's the weirdest reveal I've ever seen in my life. Thanks, Kojima.
A New Spider-Man Game Revealed
After that unusual reveal from Hideo Kojima, they follow it up with something light - A new Spider-Man game!
Days Gone Live Demonstration
And to end the night, they backtrack to Days Gone and presented a live demo of the game. It's giving me a World War Z vibe, and that's a good thing.
And that's a wrap for Sony! What did you think of their lineup for this year?
