It’s been two years since the developers of Payday and Payday 2 left Overkill Software to launch 10 Chambers Collective. And at The Game Awards, studio director Ulf Andersson presented an announcement trailer for their upcoming co-op horror shooter GTFO.

It looks pretty great. According to the trailer’s description, “Players are a team of scavengers, forced to explore and extract valuable artifacts from a vast underground complex that has been overrun by horrifying monsters. Gather weapons, tools and resources to help you survive – and work to unearth the answers about your past and how to escape.”

Few other details have been shared by Andersson, other than the small scale of their team at 10 Chambers and the desire to create something unique in the co-op space. But the trailer does a very effective job at selling both the dark tone and cooperative qualities that players are meant to experience in GTFO

I'm a big fan of Payday 2, and one of my favorite things about it was the tension that came from scrambling to complete objectives before the SWAT teams begin rushing through the doors. GTFO looks like it is going for something similar, though they've replaced the po-pos with Dead Space style creepy crawlies.

GTFO is set for 2018, with Steam being the only officially confirmed platform of release for now. In the meantime, send us your best ideas as to what GTFO stands for.
