3-player Co-op Shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite Set For Launch This August

We get to dive into the Aliens universe once again with Aliens : Fireteam Elite a co-op focused third-person shooter where marines in a group of three fend off waves of Xenomorphs. The latest trailer for the game just hit and confirmed that it will be out on August 24, 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Aliens : Fireteam Elite is set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy and the marines you play will be onboard the USS Endeavour that answers to a distress call. The game plays similar to survival games like Left 4 Dead as you go through Missions where you fight against waves of different enemies, from Xenomorphs to renegade synthetics. The game is said to launch with 20 enemy types, with 11 of them being different kinds of Xenomorphs.

This seems to be the year of the co-op survival games as we have a lot of games similar to Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Ubisoft is set to launch their 3-player co-op PVE focused shooter Rainbow Six Extraction this September, while Turtle Edge Studios — which contains original Left 4 Dead developers — is set to launch their new 4-player co-op game Back 4 Blood on October 12.

That’s a new co-op game each month starting with Fireteam Elite in August. Thankfully, they have their respective month to shine, but only time will tell which sticks to players more after a few months.
