Mafia: The Old Country Release Date Accidentally Revealed in Steam Blog Post

It looks like the Mafia: The Old Country release date was accidentally revealed in a Steam blog post that was mainly promoting the developer livestream at PAX on May 8.
The post briefly included the line:
“Mafia: The Old Country is available August 8, 2025. Pre-order now for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and stay tuned to the official Mafia website for more information.”

The line was quickly edited out, but not before screenshots were taken. It appears the change was made manually, as other language versions of the Steam blog post still contained the release date—something also reported by Gematsu.
This marks the first time Mafia: The Old Country has been given a concrete release date, having previously only been slated for a 2025 release window.
Set in early 1900s Sicily, Mafia: The Old Country explores the origins of organized crime. It’s the first new mainline entry in the series since Mafia III, which launched back in 2016.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows greatly blends the classic Assassin’s Creed stealth with the RPG elements of recent entries. Its dynamic world, seasonal changes, and improved stealth mechanics make exploration a joy, but Yasuke’s restrictive gameplay, overall story, and a half-baked notoriety system hold it back.
