Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is finally out, which means it’s time to grind to max out weapons and unlock the best equipment for your loadouts. With the game’s current XP system, gaining Double XP can ease with the grinding. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about earning Double XP in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

What are Double XP Events?

There are multiple ways to earn double XP to speed up your progression. If we follow how Modern Warfare 3’s practices of providing double XP, one way is through participating in double XP events, which are limited-time events triggered by the developer to make players earn more XP for either weapon, leveling, or the current Battle Pass. There’s no fixed schedule, but expect these to drop now and then as the game grows, especially during specific weekends.

There are also promos out there depending on your region. One example is the Monster Energy drink promo, which gives players in-game rewards when buying a Monster Energy drink. Of course, this is region-specific, but that’s one way they reward players with XP tokens, so look out for promos like this.

Social Media Promotions and XP Tokens

What Are XP Tokens?

One of the most reliable ways to trigger Double XP is by using XP Tokens. XP Tokens are consumable items that provide increased XP gains for a limited duration (15 minutes to 1 hour). Different Types of XP Tokens

There are three main types of XP Tokens you can find in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6:

  • Level: Increased XP gains for Account progression in Black Ops 6

  • Weapon: Increased XP gains for any weapon used during an online match

  • Battle Pass: Increased XP gains in the currently active Battle Pass.

Another way to secure XP Tokens is to simply buy them in the in-game store as there are bundles that come with them. There are not many bundle options to secure XP tokens consistently and you can’t outright buy tokens in the store. Not the best method, but it’s still there if you’re in dire need of increasing your XP gains.

How to Get XP Tokens from the Black Ops 6 Battle Pass

Black Ops 6 is currently in the preseason but the game’s first Battle Pass is just around the corner and you can expect XP Tokens to be one of the rewards players can earn when progressing through the many tiers.

If we look at how Battle Passes were designed in previous games, you can expect XP Tokens on both the free and premium tracks. However, expect more XP Tokens to be given in the premium.

Earning Double XP by Prestiging in Multiplayer

Another way to earn double XP is to prestige your account. The Prestige system is back and players who do this earn unique rewards in exchange of resetting their progression as they are brought back to level 1. Some progression carries over but you are essentially starting from the bottom, unlocking perks and weapons again.

XP Tokens as Prestige Rewards

Within the Prestige rewards, each Prestige will reward you with a Perk-a-Cola Gobblegum Pack when you reach a certain level after Prestiging. This pack contains a 1 hour XP Token, and looking through each Prestige level, they all have this pack with an XP token. Since you can Prestige up to ten times in an account, that’s 10 guaranteed XP tokens.
