Capcom’s Exoprimal Post-Launch Roadmap Detailed
/Capcom’s newest IP Exporimal is launching this week and the company has detailed its post-launch plans, highlighting what to expect from the online game after launch.
Season 1 of Exoprimal goes live at launch
Right out of the game the game’s first season will launch on release day, July 14, and is expected to last for three months. Two weeks after launch, the game will be updated with a new game mode called Savage Gauntlet, a co-op mode that’s set to challenge a team of five players through PvE missions that will rotate weekly. These tough missions will be replayable if they improve their ranking and earn bigger rewards from the mode.
Dino Survival mode will also include a “Final Mission Selection” feature that offers players three matchmaking options: player-versus-player, player-versus-environment, and random. In player-versus-player games, two rival squads of Exofighters go head-to-head at the end of matches. This decides which team wins and who gets fed to the raptors! Meanwhile, player-versus-environment is all about speed. These missions generally do not involve direct player-versus-player. Instead, the team to complete all objectives first will be granted permission to survive.
First Major Title Update in August
A major update for the game is planned mid-way through Season One as the game will receive its first Major Title Update on August 17, 2023. This update adds 10 Alpha variant Exosuits to the roster as these suits feature different loadouts giving players more avenues to play both the game’s main mode Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet.
Season 2 launches this October
Season 2 is planned to launch in mid-October and will come with the game’s next major title update. This is where the Street Fighter 6 collaboration, which was teased months ago, will be added to the game. The update will also add a new map called Ocean Platform, a Final Mission, and new rigs, and modules to add further loadout customization for players.
Season 3 is set for January 2024
Finally, Season 3 of Exoprimal will happen sometime in January 2024. This season will feature Beta variant Exosuits, and a new enemy called the Neotriceratops. They also plan to release a Monster Hunter collaboration during this season.
Exoprimal is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. The title will also one available on day one on PC and Xbox Game Pass.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
