Dave the Diver Reaches Over 1 Million Copies Sold After Launch
/South Korea-based studio Mintrocket announced that their deep dive fishing by day sushi restaurant management by night game has reached over 1 million copies sold, ten days after it officially released on PC back on June 28.
This comes after the game started with a Metacritic score of 89 and an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews over at their Steam account after over 25k user reviews. With sales rising, critics and users loving it, it’s easily one of the biggest sleepers this year.
The game initial launched on Steam’s Early Access program last year and the team at Mintrocket have been improving the game based on feedback in preparation for its eventual launch.
“I appreciate the community so much for being active and providing crucial feedback,” says Game Director Jaeho Hwang. “We improved a lot of systems and found bugs thanks to them. Thanks everyone for being there with us on this journey!”
The team is still at it in improving the overall experience of the game but they are also looking ahead as they are set to also launch the game on the Nintendo Switch later this year.
I’ve been playing Dave the Diver since it launched, slowly chipping away at the game one dive at a time and I’m with everybody as there’s nothing but good things in this little gem of a game. It’s a game full of charm with multiple mechanics being introduced to you in rapid succession that it was hard for it was hard to feel any kind of repetition forming.
Dave the Diver is currently at a 10% discount throughout the Steam Summer Sale, bringing the game to P553.50 (~$10)
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
