Cities: Skylines 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series Delayed, PC Version Still Releasing This October
/Paradox Interactive and developer Colossal Order announced that they are delaying the release of Cities: Skylines 2 on consoles, pushing back the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game to Spring 2024. The PC version will still be released on October 24, as planned.
The console is being pushed back to simply give the developers more time to hit “quality targets”.
“We are hard at work preparing the game for our release on October 24th. While doing so, we have realized that we need more time to reach the quality targets we have set for Console. As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024.” says the developer and publisher in their announcement.
“The additional time allows us to focus on matching the quality and performance across all platforms. We’ll share more updates on the console release window soon.”
In the FAQ, all pre-orders for the console version will be refunded automatically, as no additional action is needed by the players to get your refund.
Originally, the console version of Cities: Skylines 2 was supposed to launch simultaneously with the PC version, but sadly that’s no longer the case. The original game was first launched on PC then on eventually released on consoles.
This will be music to the ears of kids who grew up on the series, but for the uninitiated, there’s nothing quite like the Mario & Luigi games. Mario & Luigi Brothership does its best to appeal to a wide range of players with charming presentation and a strong new Battle Plug system, but not everyone will be enamored with its reflex-testing gameplay.
