From Software will be launching a new free update for Elden Ring tomorrow, December 7, 2022. It’s called the Colosseum update that’s all about giving PvP enthusiasts in the game a perfect place to duke it out.
Check out the trailer above as this update will now open the once closed colosseum to all players itching to fight amongst other players. The video showed some 1v1 and 3v3 modes of some kind though we have yet to know exactly how it will work out. Do we get new items that will allow us to participate in specific PvP formats by dropping a sign inside the colosseum? Does this form of PvP restrict certain consumables and level brackets? We’ll know soon enough as the update will go live sometime tomorrow.
There’s not much details beyond the trailer but the Youtube video’s description has this about the update:
“The Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid will open their gates, allowing players to engage in battles such as duels, free-for-alls and team fights.”
“Prove your worth in the free Colosseum Update. Coming December 7.”
A dedicated space for PvP isn’t something new in Souls games as Dark Souls 3 had the Battle of Stoicism in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, for example.
This free update giving an official PvP spot is one of the most sought after requests from the Elden Ring community as Elden Ring PvP is alive and well but scattered all over the large world as there are multiple areas that have become hot spots for players itching for some PvP.
This is a major update as previous patches were solely focused on balancing the game and fixing various bugs and issues in the game.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
