Gameplay Presentation at Gamescom 2024
Sharkmob developers will be present at this year's Gamescom in Level Infinite’s booth to show a gameplay presentation of their extraction shooter.
Sharkmob has been slowly teasing their next game since they’ve halted the development of new content for their battle royal online game Blood Hunt as they’ve shifted their talents in working on a battle royale to a extraction shooter.
Extraction shooters have slowly gained popularity since Escape from Tarkov was introduced, and studios are slowly picking up the interest as there are now a variety of titles that provide a similar experience seen in Tarkov, which remains the king thanks to their realistic and punishing gameplay design.
Extraction shooters are more intimidating than traditional shooters as players go into a game to gather resources or equipment in a game filled with players doing the same thing. The catch is that if players die, they lose all the equipment and loot they’ve picked up and brought into the game, so the tension and pressure can ramp up rather easily.
Playtests are coming
As for Sharkmob’s Exoborne, they are providing a sci-fi spin to the extraction shooter that also seems to incorporate devastating weather elements into their game. They had their first closed test back in May and plan to provide more playtest sessions in the future. If you like what you see in Exoborne so far and wish to participate in upcoming playtests, interested players, can sign up on the game’s official website for information on future tests and how to participate in them.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has the potential to be a favorite for fans of the franchise, delivering an authentic Indiana Jones experience with its story and cinematic presentation. While the game shines in its exploration and puzzle elements, the combat and stealth mechanics’ lack of gameplay variety holds it back.
