Exoprimal’s Director Confirms That Their New Game Has No Connection to Dino Crisis

Earlier this year, Capcom announced Exoprimal, an online co-op shooter where players fend off tons of dinosaurs at once, and many thought there just might be a connection to Capcom’s Dino Crisis series. In a recent interview, Takuro Hiraoka, the director for Exoprimal, clears things up by confirming that there’s no connection at all.

In an interview with IGN, Hiraoka says that "No, the game is its own unique thing and has no relationship to Dino Crisis."

Well, there you have it. You can’t blame fans for thinking otherwise though as our first look at the game had a character with short red hair, fighting dinosaurs. Lots of them.

Hiraoka wanted to challenge him and his team in delivering something that was different from past Capcom games.

"Once we had established our gameplay concept, dinosaurs were the first idea that came up for the enemies you would face. I thought that it would be fun to experience the threat of history's most fearsome predators, and that if there were hundreds or thousands of them it would be an intensity that hadn't been seen before. Once we had that idea, we felt that the only way to face the overwhelming strength and numbers of dinosaurs would be with futuristic technology rather than modern weapons." Hiraoka said.

It’s definitely out of the box as these are not just you facing a single dinosaur but hundreds of them all at once. This week, we got new gameplay footage of the game in action as a new trailer dropped as well as a 15-minute competitive match between two teams in the game’s Survival mode.
