If you want to see it for yourself you can do so on either the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 under the PlayStation Plus section in the dashboard. There’s a ‘Last chance to play’ section showing the games leaving the service.
This isn’t the biggest list of games leaving the service as we did have a month where more than 30 games were scheduled to leave all at once, and that was back in May 2023.
Why is this happening?
Why is this happening? It’s common for services like PlayStation Plus as whatever deal between the service and those who own the rights to the games eventually expire. If not renewed, it leaves the service, and subscribers will no longer have access to those games. But there are chances that it will be added again in the future, but it’s hard to tell when this will happen.
A batch of games have left the service in the past, but this is list of games leaving for this month is a bit larger than usual. It also contains a good amount of classic Final Fantasy titles, which I’d like to think Sony would like to hold onto as many are still on a Final Fantasy high, especially those going through Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
This is the main difference between the PlayStation Plus Game and Classic Catalog and the Monthly Games offered each month to all subscribers. Games that are in either of the catalogs for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members will always have a chance of being removed from the list of games, while Monthly Games will be in a user’s account for as long as you are subscribed to the service. There is no time limit to Monthly Games.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
