Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Nibelheim Demo Out Now, Open World Demo Goes Live Feb 21
/Soon after the State of Play deep dive presentation of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix announced a free playable demo of the upcoming game, featuring two sections with one now available to play for all players, while the other is said to go live on February 21, 2024.
The first part of the demo is called ‘Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim’, the famed flashback section where Cloud accompanies Sephiroth to Nibelheim during his time as a SOLDIER. If you remember the original game, this is a flashback that occurs right after Cloud and company left Midgar as the group had questions about Sephiroth.
In Rebirth, this will likely occur at the start of the game as Remake did end the moment they left Midar. This portion of the demo will be straightforward as you control a party that consists of a young Cloud and Sephiroth himself.
Second Final Fantasy VIII Rebirth demo goes live on February 21
Once you finish ‘Fall of a hero in Nibelheim’, you’ll have to wait until February 21 to play ‘Dawn of a new Era’, a second demo featuring the game’s open world segment.
Here’s how Square Enix described the second demo in a press release provided:
“After players complete the “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” content, the demo will receive an update on February 21, opening another playable section entitled “Dawn of a New Era in Junon.” In this special preview made specifically for the demo, explore a small piece of the massive in-game world around the harbor town of Junon. The Junon area featured in this demo has been altered to make the content more compact, so progress cannot be carried over to the full game. However, fans and newcomers will get a chance to experience new forms of exploration, new synergy attacks and the powerful character bonds expressed through thrilling combat.”
There are benefits to playing this demo as those with save data from the demo will receive the Kupo Charm and Survival Set which can be used in the full game.. Also, players that have finished the demo will be given the option to skip past sections covered in the ‘Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim’, in case you’re not keen on doing that part all over again.
The first section of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s demo is now available for download on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5 users. If you want to get information about the game, the latest State of Play goes all out in showing many aspects of the JRPG. They even released the final trailer for the game (found below) as we are weeks away from it officially releasing.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch on February 29, 2024 on PlayStation 5.
This will be music to the ears of kids who grew up on the series, but for the uninitiated, there’s nothing quite like the Mario & Luigi games. Mario & Luigi Brothership does its best to appeal to a wide range of players with charming presentation and a strong new Battle Plug system, but not everyone will be enamored with its reflex-testing gameplay.
