Remake of Front Mission 2 Launches on June 12
/Forever Entertainment and Developer Storm Trident is set to launch the remake of Front Mission 2 on June 12, 2023, for the Nintendo Switch. This is the first time the title will be released for a western audience.
The tactical RPG is given a visual uplift with improved loading speeds, multiple language support, and a new free camera option to zoom in during gameplay, and in case you want to look at the Wanzer detail. This version will also feature new coloring and camouflage options and a “renewed” soundtrack.
The gameplay and its story remain unchanged for this remake of the 1997 classic.
Here’s a quick description of the game:
A classic tactical RPG returns! The second game in the main Front Mission storyline is finally available outside of Japan for the first time.
FRONT MISSION 2: Remake blends intense strategy with a deep and involved storyline.
12 years have passed since the second Huffman conflict. The impoverished People's Republic of Alordesh has been suffering a severe economic decline ever since the war ended. In June 12th, 2102, soldiers of the Alordesh Army rise up and, led by Ven Mackarge, declare independence from the O.C.U. (Oceania Cooperative Union).
In FRONT MISSION 2: Remake, the perspective switches between three characters: Ash, Lisa, and Thomas, creating a worldview that goes beyond a simple dichotomy between good and evil.
If you want to revisit the start of the series in preparation for Front Mission 2 remake, the remake of the first game, Front Mission 1st, was released last year and costs $34.99.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
