Ghost of YōTei Set 300 Years After the Events of Ghost of Tsushima

Developer Sucker Punch Productions has unveiled their next game and it’s a follow up of their hit open-world game Ghost of Tsushima titled Ghost of Yōtei, set 300 years after the events of the first game.

Moving the timeline and having a new story with a new protagonist confirms that Jin Sakai’s story is over as the developers move forward with a completely new story and location in Japan while retaining the Ghost concept we saw in the first game.

In Ghost of Yōtei you’ll be playing as Tasu, and her journey takes place in 1603.

”Our story is set in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, a towering peak in the heart of Ezo, an area of Japan known as Hokkaido in present day. In 1603, this area was outside the rule of Japan, and filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers. It’s a far cry from the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima, and it’s the setting for an original story we can’t wait to tell.” Andrew Golfarb, Senior Communications Manager at Sucker Punch shared in a PlayStation Blog post about the game.

Details are minimal, but this is Sucker Punch’s first title build from the ground up for the PS5.

They plan to share more soon.
