How To Unlock Prophet Dan for Free in Back 4 Blood

Turtle Rock Studios just released Children of the Worm, the second expansion to their 4-player co-op shooter Back 4 Blood. It not only comes with a new Act and other additions to the game but a new playable Cleaner Prophet Dan. You can unlock the new character by simply owning the second expansion, but there’s another to play him, so here’s a quick guide on how to unlock him for free on PvP.

Back 4 Blood comes with a competitive 4v4 PvP mode called Swarm, where one team plays as the Cleaners while the other takes them down as special Ridden. To unlock Prophet Dan and play him for free, all you need to do is simply play five matches of Swarm and that unlocks him for the PvP game mode. Playing Swarm doesn’t unlock him for PvE play, though.

That’s simply it, really. You’ll need to complete a full match of Swarm to make it count to unlocking the character. You might think it’s easy to do so but this is actually difficult as Swarm isn’t so popular among the Back 4 Blood community, so it might come out as a challenge to find players willing to play the game mode.

Simply playing Swarm is also the alternate method in unlocking the two cleaners for the game mode, which came with the game’s first expansion called “Tunnels of Terror”. You need to play five matches of Swarm to unlock the Cleaner Heng, while Sharice is much harder as she requires a whopping twenty five matches to make her available in Swarm.

The Children of the Swarm expansion went live on August 30 and adds an Act 5 that features four new special threats to deal with in the new area as well as exclusive skins for both weapons and cleaners. The launch of the expansion also updates the game with new content for all players, regardless of whether you own the new expansion. The game now features new legendary weapons, a bear trap, melee claws, bows, new cards, and more.
