Looter Shooter Synced Will Have an Open Beta This December
/Publisher Level Infinite and developer NExT Studios today announced that their third-person shooter Synced will have an open beta session starting from December 10, 2022 until January 15, 2023.
Here’s a quick description of the game from a press release sent out:
SYNCED is a rogue-looter shooter set in the near future of our world, where nanotechnology has become the backbone of civilization. In the wake of a cataclysm known as the Collapse, the nanomachines have turned against their creators, consuming humans to propagate themselves and transforming into the deadly beings - the Nanos. In this apocalypse, players take on the role of a Runner, brave fortune-seekers who scour the Meridian for the valuable nano-energy substance known as Nerva. Players will team up in squads of three and take part in intense PvE and PvP battles for survival.
Synced looks to be a familiar looter shooter but with emphasis in mods and the ability to convert enemies (known as Nano) to be an ally. Characters will be able to be paired up with four different kinds of Nano classes - Crusher, Seer, Guardian, and Suppressor.
As for the mods, it seems like it will feature a pool of abilities and perks that will cater to a specific playstyle. The trailer above gives us a handful of examples of what you can expect from Synced.
As for your character, you’ll be able to play different Runners with their own unique perks and abilities. The gameplay trailer showcases at least five Runners – Deadcut, Glory, Ragna, Park, and Dr. Stone which specializes in supporting his squad with healing.
The open beta session will feature both PvP and on the PvE content and the developers mentioned that new content will be released during the open beta on a weekly basis, though they have yet to specify what kind of content to expect. The open beta will be available for those on the PC platform through Steam and can wishlist the game right now.
If you’re keen on what you see, you can check out the game’s official website. When it is officially launched, the game will be free-to-play. The looter shooter is currently developed for the PC platforms but a console version is planned for the future.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
