Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Outfit Coming to Marvel Rivals
/NetEase and PlayStation are collaborating to bring Spider-Man’s original suit seen in Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to Marvel Rivals. This skin will launch alongside the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on January 30, 2025.
This isn’t a free unlock by any means but likely a paid unlock, though NetEase has yet to reveal how much it would cost for players to use this specific skin when playing Spidey.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of the many possible skins NetEase can pool from to populate Marvel Rivals in-game store. The game already sells the Marvel Cinematic Universe outfits for specific heroes and also unique skins we haven’t seen before.
The in-game store for Marvel Rivals being populated with more cosmetics is understandable as the game is currently in a good spot and is being played by thousands of players across PlayStation and PC. With them having a reasonable battle pass package with no time limit, and all future playable heroes free to all players, it’s understandable to see the devs push more skins to entice players to spend in order to pay the bills that keep the game running for multiple seasons.
Marvel Rivals is currently on its first season and is slowly introducing the Fantastic Four as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Girl is now available in the game with The Thing and The Human Torch expected to make their debut during the second half of the season.
Even in its current state, Path of Exile 2 overshadows much of the available ARPGs in the market today both in terms of quality and replayability. It sets a precedent, proving that the ARPG genre can still be improved. Grinding Gear Games are the tip of the spear that’s taking the ARPG genre into a new age of gaming.
