Marvel’s Spider-man 2 Set to Release Fall 2023
/Sony Interactive Entertainment gave us a glimpse of what to expect in the early parts of 2023 through a blog post, mentioning games like Forspoken, The DualSense Edge controller, Hogwarts Legacy, PlayStation VR 2 and more. But they did start by confirming that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently set for a Fall 2023 release.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first revealed in the 2021 PlayStation Showcase and shows Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting side-by-side, then ending the trailer with the reveal of Venom, currently considered as the big villain for the upcoming sequel. Since then, not much details were revealed this year but it looks like we’ll likely get more of what to expect with Insomniac Games’ upcoming title.
“What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.” says Bryan Intihar, Creative Director for Spider-Man 2.
The release window can of course change at anytime but at least we have an idea now on what the team is currently aiming for as we enter 2023
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man was recently launched on PC through the Steam platform this year, though the sequel has not yet been confirmed to come to the PC platform as it’s currently only set to release on the PlayStation 5.
The PlayStation blog post also mentioned highly anticipated titles such as the next Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall coming on February 22, Resident Evil 4 coming on March 24, and Final Fantasy XVI, which is slated as Q2/3 2023 in the post but is confirmed during the 2022 Game Awards that it is set to release on June 22, 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy is coming to current-gen consoles on February 10 but previous consoles will have to wait a little longer as that version of the game was pushed back to April 4.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
