Monster Hunter Rise Is Coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass in January
/Capcom announced that the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Rise, will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Game Pass on January 20, 2023.
This version of Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation and Xbox consoles will support 4K resolution at 60 FPS with 3D audio. For PS5, the action RPG will also make use of the PS5 DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers for the game’s ranged and shielded weapons, to give some resistance when using them.
Monster Hunter Rise will also be available through PC and Xbox Game Pass.
This is just for the base game as Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the game’s first major expansion, will be available later in spring 2023.
Monster Hunter Rise first released on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021. At the start of this year, Capcom released Rise on PC through Steam. The Sunbreak expansion then was released back in June on the Switch and PC.
Without it being available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Game Pass, Monster Hunter Rise is already Capcom’s third-highest selling game of all time as it’s now over 11.2 million copies sold as of September 2022.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
