New Animated Short Released for Sonic Superstars, Battle Mode Game Mode Detailed
/Sega released a cute animated short for their upcoming platformer Sonic Superstars, which is scheduled to release on October 17, 2023.
The animated short that’s roughly 5-minutes long features Sonic and his friends going against Fang, then switches to Dr. Eggman and Fang facing off against large exotic creatures. It’s a fun watch that sadly doesn’t have audio for any of the characters.
New Sonic Superstars Game Mode - Battle Mode
Sonic Superstars will have a new battle game mode that allows players to control their own Metal Fighter competing against either four players locally or up to eight players online.
The matches will be composed of three rounds with objectives randomly picked in each round.
Battle Mode will have these objectives, as described by Sega:
Star Snatcher - Collect the stars that appear at random across the stage. The player who gathers the most stars win!
Survival - Deftly dodge oncoming missiles to be the last one standing. The ground will start to collapse as time passes.
Zap Scrap - Use electric attacks to deal damage to as many enemies as you can. Picking up items will power up your attacks.
Race - Race across a variety of stages. The first player to reach the finish line wins!
Metal Fighters can be customized as players can choose each part of their character and the paint of each one. Progress through the game’s story mode will slowly unlock new customizable options for your Metal Fighter.
Bonus DLC if you register in Sega’s newsletter
Sega also announced that players interested in picking up the game in October can register in the Sonic Superstars newsletter to not only receive the latest news about the game but to also receive the in-game Amy Costume skin.
Sonic Superstars will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
