Developer People Can Fly have detailed everything you need to know about what seems to be a massive expansion to their third-person looter shooter Outriders. The Worldslayer expansion is set to launch on June 30 and here’s what you need to know about the new content coming in a few months.

Outriders Worldslayer release date

The reveal broadcast, which you can watch below, doesn’t beat around the bush as it quickly details what comes with the Worldslayer expansion, which will be released on June 30, 2022. From what all they’ve mentioned, they are adding in quite a lot in Worldslayer. From a deeper character progression and more loot to provide more builds in the endgame.

Outriders Worldslayer campaign

For starters, Worldslayer will come with a new campaign that kicks off the moment you finish the base game’s campaign. The Anomaly starts to evolve, triggering sudden blizzards and other environmental changes. You being one of the Outriders, you naturally investigate the new change which leads you to go against a new Altered named Ereshkigal. The new campaign will also introduce new enemy types to the game.

Added tiers and expanded progression

When Outriders launches, the game will have additional challenge tiers (increased difficulty levels, but with better rewards) called Apocalypse tiers. There will be 40 tiers added in, with the first 15 Apocalypse tiers available to all Outriders players while the last additional 25 tiers will be exclusive to those who own the Worldslayer expansion.

For Classes, we are not getting a new one in Worldslayer, but we are getting PAX class trees, additional skill trees that are said to expand the current classes as you progress through Worldslayer.

The Worldslayer expansion also features the inclusion of the Ascension system, which is a similar system to the endgame progression found in Diablo 3 (Paragon levels) or Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (Myth rank). When you reach the max level with your character, you can then start progressing through the Ascension system to improve your character’s stats even further to get stronger. It’s apparently going to be a grind to completely max out your character here as People Can Fly states that it could take around 360 hours for players to max it out.

The max level still remains at level 30 in Worldslayer, so veteran players can start going through the Ascension system right out the gate. New players that pick up the game and are planning to play the Worldslayer content right away with friends with level 30 characters can do so as you’ll be given the option to boost a character to max level and start at the beginning of the new campaign. You can play the original campaign at any time as well.

Apocalypse gear, and new weapon/armor perks

For those excited for more loot to find, the Worldslayer expansion will introduce Apocalypse gear, a new type of gear that features a third perk slot. If you’ve played the original Outriders, you’ll know how significant this is. The expansion will also feature new weapon and armor perks as well as new legendary gear to find. So far they haven’t fully enclosed the new kinds of perks coming to the game.

Worldslayer endgame content

Expeditions will still be around but Worldslayer will include a new endgame activity called the ‘The Trial of Tarya Gratar’ to host all your grinding, min/maxing needs. They didn’t go into detail of how it will work in the reveal broadcast but they did mention that they will reveal more about it as we get closer to the expansion’s release. .

Worldslayer Pre-order details and purchase options

Veteran players of Outriders can opt to pick up the Worldslayer upgrade option as it will cost $40 on release. New players that don’t own the original game can pick up Outriders Worldslayer which costs $60 as it comes with the base game and the expansion. Pre-ordering any of these will give you 48-hour early access to the Worldslayer expansion

From the look of things, it’s simply more Outriders and I'm all for it as I had a blast going through the campaign and grinding through the game's endgame. It’s definitely a lot to take in and it has left me excited to jump back into Enoch, but we’ll see if this will indeed be a major improvement  fans have been hoping for since the game was released last year.

If you haven’t jumped in since April 2021, Outriders was updated with a New Horizon update back in November 2021, improving the game’s endgame content and a transmog system for those that want look stylish when shooting and looting.
