Overwatch 2’s Ramattra Tank Abilities Explained
/Overwatch 2’s Ramattra Tank Abilities Explained
Blizzard have revealed their upcoming hero Ramattra’s abilities, the new tank that adds new properties to the game such as a vortex that not only slows enemies but also pulls flyers down, plus two modes that have their own way of attacking and mitigating attacks.
Ramattra starts off in his Omnic form called Void Accelerator, where he uses his staff to deal damage and create a barrier at a certain location. The unique about this form is that his primary source of damage has no damage falloff, making him deal a good amount of damage from a distance. Critical hits deal more damage too.
The real pressure comes in when you switch to his Nemesis form, where Ramattra stows his staff and starts fighting with his fists. While in this form he earns bonus armor and his primary attacks are short-range power wave punches that have piercing properties, Allowing him to deal damage to anybody caught in every blast. This is mostly effective when facing off an opposing tank as those behind the tank could still get hit by Ramattra.
Nemesis mode then has a block move, replacing the barrier, making Ramattra significantly reduce any incoming damage in front of the character. The drawback when using this ability however is that you’ll be slowed when this ability is active.
Ramattra can only be in Nemesis form for just a short period of time (said to be 8 seconds as of this writing), so you’ll have to decide when will be the best time to utilize the Nemesis form.
The other ability, Ravenous Vortex, is a skill that is shared between both forms and seems like an interesting addition as whoever is caught inside the abilities field will take constant damage and is slowed. What makes it unique is that heroes with the ability to fly/float will be pulled down to the ground, making characters like Mercy more vulnerable if caught.
Finally, we have the ultimate ability called Annihilation, a simple ability where those near Ramattra when the ability is active will constantly take damage and will reduce the damage output of any enemy inside by a significant amount (50%). This feels like a complete opposite to Zenyatta’s ultimate Transcendance.
Ramattra will be available in Overwatch 2 on December 6 when Season 2 goes live. Just like how they handled Season 2, Players who opt to unlock the premium version of the battle pass for next season will have the new tank hero unlocked instantly. For those hoping to unlock him for free, you’ll have to grind for hours as he will be a free unlock at the halfway point of the new pass, just like Kiriko.
The multiplayer portion of Overwatch 2 has been available and free-to-play since last October for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
