Steam Autumn Sale Best Deals, and What To Consider During the 2022 Winter Sale
/Steam’s Autumn Sale is ending this week but don’t worry, this won’t be the last big sale for the year as the Winter Sale will soon be around when we celebrate the holidays and welcome the new year. If you’re still looking for a good title on a discount, here are the best deals to not only consider now but to look out for when the Winter Steam sale eventually goes live.
Steam Autumn Sales best deals
This list was composed of those that bring more value and cut so low due to being Black Friday last week. When the Winter Sale goes live, discounts will be different, maybe the same, here’s a list of titles worth considering.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands - PHP, 1,099 (50% off)
The latest entry in the Borderlands universe is probably my most favorite yet. The game looter shooter RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons-like game built off of Tiny Tina’s imagination. The writing was entertaining, the possible builds you can create were interesting, and the shooting can come out almost therapeutic. I had a blast with this one when it came out only this year and seeing it cut by half is worth considering if you're into Borderlands humor.
Dying Light 2 - PHP 1,495 (50% off)
Another title that came out only this year. Just one of the many titles that made February 2022 a busy month for video games as this open world, post apocalyptic zombie game lived up to what made the first Dying Light so great. If you liked the style of the first game, you’ll appreciate what they delivered in the sequel.
Battlefield 2042 - PHP 857.67 (67% off)
Yes, EA and DICE are still at it and are still hopeful to turn things around after Battlefield 2042’s disastrous launch. Surprisingly enough, their recent efforts seem to be pulling off as the online shooter is in a more palatable state if you compare how it was during the month it launched. Game is more stable with more content and is turning out to deliver the same chaotic combat you’d expect from the series.
It still has some core issues that are probably hard to fix after a year, but at a discount, and with it now on PC Game Pass, servers feel healthy and is fun to be had in DICE’s latest take on all-out warfare.
Deathloop - PHP 910.80 (67% off)
Deathloop is one of those games that really drives it home with its smart writing and slick level design that highly complements the game’s unique concept of repeating the same day over and over. It’s not for everyone, but definitely one to consider if you like stealth games and have appreciated Arkane Studio’s last series Dishonored.
The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition - PHP 271.99 (80% off)
At this point, with how often The Witcher 3 goes on sale, I doubt there’s anyone left who will consider 80% for the complete package to be a steal. If there’s someone still out there that has not played the game, the ideal time to pick it up will be now as the free next-gen update is just around the corner as it’s set to launch next year, adding a series of visual upgrades to make the game even more visually stunning.
Monster Hunter Rise - PHP 980.50 (50% off)
The latest entry in the Monster Hunter series only hit the PC platform early this year and can already go down as low as half its original price. Then again, it’s not surprising as the game’s first expansion called Sunbreak launched back in June, so those hoping to grind against the biggest and scariest monsters in this title will have to cough up a bit more.
Regardless, the base game still provides hours of monster hunting that you’ll be busy for quite awhile before you even want to consider the expansion.
Tales of Arise - PHP 799.98 (60% off)
This has to be the biggest steal for this year as I still consider Tales of Arise one of the best JRPGs in this generation. The combat, characters, even the trope-filled storyline was delivered so elegantly that it was a delightful adventure of saving the world with the friends you’ve met along the way.
Easily one of my top favorite games from the Tales Of franchise. You can have a full idea of what I think about the game in my review.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition - PHP 857.68 (67% off)
Sci-fi RPG shooter at its finest. The first three games of the series improved visually and in a gameplay perspective to give the trilogy a more modern touch. A great deal to revisit these classics or to jump in for the first time. Mass Effect Andromeda is also on sale for dirt cheap, but the legendary edition will show you why this has become a beloved series from BioWare.
Yakuza Like a Dragon - PHP 943.25 (65% off)
This is an easy recommendation as I've been slowly but surely trying to get into the Yakuza franchise this year. If you’re new to the series, it’s ideal to start with Yakuza 0 as this is a story-heavy franchise, but you can also start with Yakuza Like a Dragon, which focuses on an entirely different set of characters and protagonist, so you won’t need all that backstory to stay updated.
Also, combat is more appealing as long as you’re okay with some absurd turn-based RPG combat. You’ll still experience all the crazy storylines, mini-games the series is known for here, so it’s an easy pick when on a discount.
Far Cry 5 - PHP 440 (80% off)
This is probably an odd suggestion but I still stand by saying that Far Cry 5 delivers the best version of Ubisoft’s open world formula. Yes, it can be redundant and feels like you’re going from one area to another to clear out a laundry list of repetitive things to do. But you’ll be surprised some people sometimes need that kind of gameplay and Far Cry 5 does it best. The Seed family as the villains is also icing on the cake.
When is the 2022 Steam Winter Sale?
It’s announced that the sale will likely go live on December 22, 2022 and will last until January 2, 2023. We’ll update this page if there are any changes to the scheduled.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
