PlayStation Plus PS5 subscribers get Godfall’s endgame content this December
/PlayStation has officially announced the free games lineup for PS Plus this December 2021 and it’s a pretty solid lineup for those subscribed. It’s just unusual for PS5 players as what they get this month is only the endgame portion of Godfall, a game released last year.
Those subscribed to PS Plus will get Godfall: Challenger Edition, which only contains the endgame portion of the game where you are at max level and is pretty much doing the endless grind of finding better gear. The game’s main campaign and it’s expansion campaign is not included in this version of the game.
It’s weird, I tell you. Godfall originally debuted as a PS5 and PC only title but was then released for the PS4 this year. A step down, something you hardly hear as most developers are providing upgraded versions, not the other way around. Now, they are doing something completely unexpected yet again as instead of simply giving the full game for free through PlayStation’s service, they created Godfall: Challenger Edition to let you experience content reserves for when you’ve completed the game.
According to a PlayStation Blog post, If you happen to want the complete package, you can buy the deluxe editions to unlock the game’s campaigns, making me think this free offering is more of a demo than anything else and an invite to spend if you want the full experience. Both cross-play and co-op will be available in the Challenger Edition.
Thankfully, the rest of the PlayStation Plus free game offering for December 2021 is pretty straight-forward -those with PS Plus get the full PS4 versions of Soulslike action RPG Mortal Shell and DC Super Villains.
For players in Asian, you’ll be getting an extra game this month - the PS4 version of SEGA’s Judgement.
If you haven’t yet, PS VR games Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, The persistence, and Until You Fall will continue to be free to pick up for PlayStation Plus subscribers until january 3, 2022.
The PlayStation Plus free games for December will be available for download next week starting from December 7, 2021 until January 3, 2022.
