RE 4, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Death Stranding, and More Will Be Playable on the iPhone 15 Pro
/Apple’s next iteration of the iPhone series, the iPhone 15, was revealed at the company’s Wonderlust event, revealing the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max versions of the mobile device will have a lineup of AAA games such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and the soon to be released Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
This isn’t cloud streaming as this will mark the first time a new AAA title will run natively on a device running an iOS. Apple says the pro version of the mobile device has a GPU that’s 20 percent faster as it contains a 6-core design for peak performance and energy efficiency. The iPhone Pro will utilize the new A17 chipset that, according to Apple, brings the device to “next-level mobile gaming with fast, efficient performance and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.".
All versions of the iPhone 15 will be on sale starting September 22 with preorders going live on September 15. As for the games announced for the iPhone 15 Pro and Max — Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Resident Evil Village — these titles will be available later this year, while Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to launch in the first half of 2024.
There is still a presentation to show these titles working on the device just yet as there are a lot of questions if the device’s battery can indeed handle long gaming sessions and if there were any compromises in the game’s visuals to make it run smoothly on the device.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
