Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers Join Dead by Daylight

During developer Behaviour Interactive’s Behaviour Beyond livestream broadcast event, the studio revealed what to expect from Resident Evil Project: W, the second Resident Evil-themed Chapter coming to Dead by Daylight. The new Chapter will include the Killer Albert Wesker and Survivors Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers.

All we get during the presentation was a teaser trailer confirming the new Killer and Survivors. No real gameplay of them in action, but creative director of Dead by Daylight Dave Richard described what to expect from the new characters.

Albert Wesker will be known as The Mastermind in Dead by Daylight. It’s not clear what his abilities will be in the game but it still revolves around infecting survivors with a virus. For Wesker, those infected by him will have their movement speed reduced and it can only be removed by a unique item that spawns in the map, similar to the killer Nemesis. Wesker’s power was vaguely described in the livestream, saying that he will have a dash power and certain conditions will allow Wesker to pick Survivors instantly when caught by his move. As for perks, especially for the new survivors, the developers did not reveal them but promised to be aligned to the characters that host them.

Also coming to the new Resident Evil chapter is a rework of the Raccoon Police Department map. When the new chapter launches, the map will be split into two new maps and will be called West Wing and East Wing respectively. Both will have the main hall present in both maps and is said to be a more enjoyable for both Survivor and Killers as they tried to reduce the amount of dead ends and possible entry points for key rooms.

For Steam users, the developer announced that those that haven’t picked up any of the Resident Evil content for Dead by Daylight can look forward to the Resident Evil Collaboration Bundle, which simply packages the first Resident Evil Chapter and the Project: W chapter coming in the future.

As for the release date for Project: W, no details were announced. A Public Test Build is planned for this content and will be announced at a later date.
