Sega Reveals Sonic Frontiers’ 2023 DLC Road Map, To Add New Playable Characters
/SEGA announced Sonic Frontiers’ DLC roadmap for 2023, teasing three major updates that includes new content such as a photo mode, new challenge modes, new Koco, new story content, and even new playable characters.
Details are pretty vague as the announcement was made through social media. There will be three major updates with the first one announced to provide a juke box, photo mode, and new challenge modes.
Update 2 is said to add a new open zone challenge, new Koco, and content that revolves around Sonic’s Birthday.
Update 3 looks to be a big one as this update aims to make Tales, Knuckles, and Amy playable characters and will add new story content to the game.
All that were revealed for next year will be free to all players that own the game.
Release dates weren’t mentioned for any of the major updates but assuming that they plan to do something for Sonic’s birthday, and by birthday they mean the day the first Sonic the Hedgehog was released, Update 2 could launch sometime in June 2023, making Update 1 sometime in the first half of 2023, while Update 3 sometime in the latter half.
SEGA is also planning to release a free cosmetic DLC for the Christmas holiday called the ‘Holiday Cheer Suit’ on December 21. It’s pretty much Sonic rocking a Christmas themed jacket with a Santa hat.
Sonic Frontiers is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
