Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Set to Release on June 21, Pre-Order Bonus Detailed
/Sega and Atlus announced that they’ll be releasing a new version of Shin Megami Tensei V for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. It’s called Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and it will be out on June 21, 2024.
This definite edition of the 2021 title offers two different story paths — Canon of Creationsd, which follows the original story, and Canon of Vengeance, which is said to diverge from the original story midway through the playthrough, resulting in a different ending. According to Atlus, this new path tells “a dramatic tale of revenge by the fallen”.
Each path is said to offer 80 hours of content as Shin Megami Tensei: Vengeance features improvements in the game’s battle system, the Demon Fusion mechanic, and field exploration.
Pre-order Bonuses, Switch Bonus, and the Digital Deluxe Edition
Those who opt to pre-order the game will receive the “2 Sacred Treasures Set”, offering two reusable items that will help players in combat. The first one is the Haraedo Bead, which slightly recovers HP for all allies, while the other is the Gleam Grenade, which will damage all foes. Pre-orders for physical and digital copies are now available.
If you played the original game on the Switch and still have your save file on your Nintendo account, players can register up to three demons to their Deon Compendium in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.
Digital Deluxe Edition
The digital deluxe edition for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will contain not only a digital copy of the game in your chosen platform but all of these bonus content:
Sakura Cinders of the East: A DLC quest featuring Konohana Sakuya.
Holy Will and Profane Dissent: A DLC quest featuring Dagda.
Mitama Dance of Wealth: A DLC add-on that makes it easier to farm Macca.
Mitama Dance of EXP: A DLC add-on that makes it easier to gain EXP.
Mitama Dance of Miracles: A DLC add-on that makes it easier to learn Miracles.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
