Sega plans to release more details of each new feature coming to this update sometime this Thursday and will update this post once it’s released. For now, those with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription can try out the latest entry in the Sonic franchise by playing the Sonic Frontiers trial as it’s expected to launch on Thursday, March 23.
Players can try either the PS5 or PS4 version and the trial gives you 1 hour to try out the full game. If you do consider picking up the game, you can use the same save file and continue where you left off during your trial.
Sega did warn though that those who do play the trial and decide to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition cannot continue where they left off from your Trial save. The company suggests they start fresh and install the Explorer’s Treasure Box, the extra goodies that come with buying the Digital Deluxe Edition.
Sega has a lot planned for Sonic Frontiers throughout 2023. The ‘Sights, Sounds, and Speed’ update is the first major free content release for the game with two more free major releases planned for the game. According to the game’s 2023 roadmap released last year, The second content update will add more challenges and an event that is related to Sonic’s Birthday, while the third major content update will add new playable characters and new story content.
Sonic Frontiers is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
