Sonic Frontiers’ Third Free Content Update Called the Final Horizon Launches This September
/During the 2023 Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, Sega revealed the third free content update for Sonic Frontiers and it’s a big one as this adds a new story on Ouranos Island that introduces Amy, Knuckles, and Tails as playable characters.
The trailer above is much of a teaser more than anything as Sonic, his friends, and Robotnik, look upon a new threat. We didn’t see the new playable characters in action but according to Sega, you’ll need to use their abilities to complete the new challenges and missions coming to the game for free.
Sonic Frontiers was released back in November 2022 and has been updated with free new content, enticing people to come back and play this open-world Sonic title. Sega announced before the start of this year a full roadmap of what to expect from the game in 2023 and it looks like they are well on their way to completing it as this is the last promised content for 2023.
Sonic Frontiers is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
This isn’t the only Sonic-related announcement during the event as we were treated to a new Sonic Superstars trailer showcasing multiplayer.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
