Starfield Now Launching on September 6, Starfield Direct is Set for June 11
/Bethesda announced that their highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield will no longer launch in the first half of 2023 but on September 6, 2023. Alongside the new release date announcement, they also announced ‘Starfield Direct’, a showcase event solely focused on showing more of the game.
“We have poured ourselves into this game and even I’m surprised how much we can pour—it is large.” Says game director Todd Howard, who gave a brief message right after the reveal of the game’s new release date.
“There’s so much that we still have to show you. The game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.” he continues.
Starfield was originally set to launch on November 11, 2022, but was pushed back to the first half of 2023. That also is no longer the case as the RPG is now set to launch this September. We did get a gameplay reveal during the Xbox & Bethesda showcase, and we will get more about the game in June. They didn’t specify what exactly will be shown during the showcase.
Starfield puts players in the role of space explorers and it’s simply Bethesda’s take on the sci-fi theme and injecting it with their way of creating an RPG epic, complete with player customization, trait, skill system, and the option to explore more than 1,000 planets (according to Todd).
This announcement is rather interesting as it puts two highly anticipated RPGs just a week apart – Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3, which is set to launch on August 31.
Starfield will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
