Steam Players for Babylon’s Fall dropped to just 8 at one point last week

Babylon’s Fall, PlatinumGames’ hack and slash action RPG looter looter, and their take on a live-service game has been available since March and is struggling to maintain a healthy number of players on the Steam platform as it dropped to as low as 8 players playing at one point on April 12.

This isn’t a promising start for a game hoping to be the next big live service game, and it does make sense as there was barely any buzz swirling around the next game coming from the developers that made Bayonetta and NieR: Automata. It also didn’t help that Babylon’s Fall received mostly negative reviews as it has a Metacritic score of 40 for the PS5 version and a 46 in the PC version. The Steam version is also not available worldwide as the game is not available in the Philippines, for instance.

Now, what little player base the game has is now slowly dwindling. According to SteamDB, the game reached its lowest point when it had just 8 concurrent players playing at one point in time on April 12 . If you look at the stats even further, from April 1 to April 18, you’ll notice that there’s only one time this month that the concurrent player count for Babylon’s Fall went over 300 players, which was on April 2. Since then, there has been a slow decline.

Now, we don’t know the state of players on the PlayStation systems but the PC charts gives us a good idea as this game did launch with crossplay available.

Despite these numbers, it looks like the developers are not showing any sign of stopping any post-launch content as they confirmed on March 19 that season 2 is practically complete and they are now working on season 3.

Babylon’s Fall is a 4-player hack and slash looter now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, , and PC via Steam.
