Tekken 8 Gameplay Revealed During State of Play

PlayStation started their online broadcast State of Play with our first look at Tekken 8 gameplay with Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima duking it out in the rain surrounded by tornados.
The footage was taken fromTekken 8’s story mode currently in development, and was all rendered in real-time. They didn’t release any more details of the game’s story mode so far as the first gameplay showing above is simply Katsuhiro Harada and his team’s way of showing off the quality they are trying to achieve in the next iteration of Tekken.
It’s hard to decipher what is really going on during the fight between Jin and Kazuya as we see various parts of the fight going into slow motion. Is this a new game mechanic of some sort or just applied for dramatic effect in the story mode?
Either way, a strong showing compared to the creepy Kazuya smile Evo fans received as a teaser toTekken 8 during Evo 2022. No other information or release date was given.
