Everybody knew Riot Games was going to be present as they brought a playable demo of their 2v2 fighting game currently called Project L to Evo 2023, confirming there will be four playable characters in the demo. Three has been revealed previously, so a character announcement was definitely coming, and it happens to be the reveal of Yasuo, the Unforgiven.
Street Fighter 6 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration goes live this week
Before the start of the event’s main event, the Street Fighter 6 top 6, Capcom had a few surprises and started with the reveal of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration that allows players to rock skins of their favorite turtle in Street Fighter 6.
The collaboration will be available starting this week, August 8.
Street Fighter 6 - A.K.I. Reveal trailer
Capcom wasn’t done with the announcements as they also reveal the new DLC character coming to Street Fighter 6. She’s called A.K.I. and is a maniacal fighter that specializes in poisons. Just like the first DLC character Rashid, A.K.I. will also be available as a mentor in the World Tour game mode to allow a player’s avatar to learn the new fighter’s move set and make it their own.
Under Night in-birth 2 Sys: Celes announced
Developer Arc System Works revealed that in collaboration with developer French-Bread, they will be working on a new fighting game title called Under Night In-Birth 2 Sys:Celes, a follow up title to the 2012 title Under Night In-Birth. The 2D fighting game is set for a 2024 release and will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. They also announced that this new game will feature rollback netcode for online play.
Tekken 8 - character reveals

Azucena
Bandai Namco was naturally present at Evo 2023 and brought with them new information such as the reveal of Raven’s return and newcomer Azucena, who apparently is considered the coffee queen from Peru. Sadly, no release date for Tekken 8 was given during the event.
Guilty Gear Strive - Johnny announced
Arc System Works may be busy with other projects but they are not done with Guilty Gear Strive as they announced season 3, which contains another batch of new characters coming to the fighting game, and the first one announced in this batch is Johnny who will be joining the roster on August 24.
They also announced that a “large-scale update” is in the works that will balance the entire cast, add new battle mechanics and add new special moves for some characters.
Fatal Fury: City of Wolves Announced
It was known that SNK was working on a new Fatal Fury title but never revealed the game’s official title until now. The new game is called Fatal Fury: City of Wolves. We didn’t get gameplay of the fighting game as all that was shown was audio of a match between characters, but SNK did confirm that the game will feature a cel-shaded look.
No platform or release date was given as well.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
