The Witcher Remake Announced by CD Projekt Red
/CD Projekt Red announced that a remake of the first Witcher game is currently in development using Unreal Engine 5 by the studio Fool’s Theory. This is one of the five games announced by the company earlier this month.
The Witcher remake went by the codename Canis Majoris and says this will be a true remake of the first game, asking fans to be patient as they want to get this right.
“Collaborating with Fool’s Theory on the project is just as exciting, as some of the people there have been previously involved in The Witcher games. They know the source material well, they know how much gamers have been looking forward to seeing the remake happen, and they know how to make incredible and ambitious games. And although it will take some time before we’re ready to share more about and from the game, I know it’ll be worth the wait.” said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio..
The original Witcher game came out in 2007 and is the game that put CD Projekt Red on the map. The announcement of the remake was done on this day to celebrate 15 years since the first game was launched.
