Twitter Sharing on PlayStation Ends on November 13
/Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that on November 13, 2023, they will remove X (formally known as Twitter) integration on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 systems, eliminating users the ability to share their content or make posts directly from their consoles.
Here’s the official announcement from Sony:
“As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).”
Sony has not yet disclosed why they are disabling the X/Twitter functionality on their system, but it’s likely related to Twitter/X’s API price increase that happened early this year. Microsoft also disabled the feature to share content through the social media app last April.
It’s not completely lost as there’s still an option to share their in-game content and screenshots, but they’ll have to use the ShareFactory App on the PS4 or the PlayStation app on their phone for PlayStation.
Even in its current state, Path of Exile 2 overshadows much of the available ARPGs in the market today both in terms of quality and replayability. It sets a precedent, proving that the ARPG genre can still be improved. Grinding Gear Games are the tip of the spear that’s taking the ARPG genre into a new age of gaming.
