Ubisoft Announces XDefiant’s Closed Beta, Which is Available Worldwide Today
/Ubisoft announced that the closed beta for their free-to-play competitive FPS game XDefiant is now live worldwide and will run until April 23. Those interested in checking out the new shooter can either register to get in the beta or watch Twitch streamers with Drops enabled to get access to the beta.
You can register through their website for a chance at getting a code or do what I did – watch a streamer playing XDefiant with Drops on for 30 minutes.
This beta will feature cross-play meaning players from PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can play together.
When XDefiant launches, it will feature 14 maps, five Ubisoft-inspired factions, 24 weapons, 44 attachments, and five devices. These factions are based on known factions from Ubisoft’s other franchises: The Cleaners (The Division), Libertad (Far Cry 6), Echelon (Splinter Cell), Phantoms (Ghost Recon Phantoms), and DedSec (Watch Dogs). Think of factions in this game as classes as each one has its own set of unique abilities to bring to a match.
Ubisoft went all in with this announcement as they released five deep dive trailers highlighting the XDefiant’s gameplay, a game overview, explaining Factions, the game’s maps and modes, and a peek at the game’s seasonal roadmap.
You can watch each one below.

Players that participate in the closed beta will not keep their progression when the closed beta ends, but they will be rewarded with up to 10 exclusive cosmetic items that will be available at launch.
XDefiant currently has no release date, but with his much information given out and a closed beta easily accessible, a launch date is likely imminent.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
