Ubisoft Unveils Year 2 Content for The Crew Motorfest During The Crew Showcase 2024
/Ubisoft has announced exciting updates for the future of The Crew franchise, including the gameplay reveal of The Crew Motorfest's massive Year 2 content update. During The Crew Showcase 2024, Ubisoft Ivory Tower, the game's developer, shared details about the upcoming changes, set to kick off with Season 5 on November 6. One of the biggest additions is a brand-new playground: the stunning island of Maui, which will be available for free to all players.
Explore the Island of Maui
Starting November 6, players of The Crew Motorfest can explore the island of Maui for free. The new playground offers over 100 km² of on- and off-road driving fun, which is nearly half the size of O’ahu. Traveling between the islands will be seamless, with no loading screens, as players can move by sea, air, or across a new bridge connecting the two locations.
Maui is designed to reflect its unique blend of ancient Hawaiian traditions and modern influences, offering a rich and diverse experience for players. Drive along the scenic road to Hana, venture through lush bamboo forests, marvel at mesmerizing waterfalls, and navigate narrow bridges. The island also features Kaihalulu beach with its distinctive red sands and the famous Haleakalā National Park, known as the "House of the Sun." In Kahului, the vibrant heart of Maui, players can explore a bustling city center, a deep-draft harbor, and lush suburbs, all promising endless exploration and thrilling adventures.
Season 5 Content
Season 5, the first of three planned for Year 2, will mark the return of the popular “Made in Japan” playlist, with Volume 2 introducing new neon races, events, and locations. Players will face off against new street racer squads determined to dominate the festival’s streets.
Completing all main events will unlock the Rivals Race board, where players can engage in intense one-on-one races across both islands. Season 5 is packed with weeks of content, including new challenges, car culture themes, and exciting vehicles to collect.
Premium Content and New Challenges
The Year 2 update will also feature premium PvE content with “The Chase Squad,” a new twist on car chase gameplay. Players will join the Squad, mastering the art of the chase in adrenaline-fueled hunts to outsmart urban racing rivals across the islands. French artist Carpenter Brut has created an exclusive track, “Death Racer,” to accompany these thrilling nocturnal pursuits, and it will be available on digital platforms this fall.
“The Chase Squad” experience will be included in the Year 2 Pass, launching on November 6. The Year 2 Pass will also be part of the updated Gold and Ultimate editions of The Crew Motorfest, offering access to 20 additional vehicles. Nine of these vehicles will be available from day one, with the remaining 11 released in monthly drops throughout the year.
Offline Mode and Discounts
The development team emphasized their commitment to long-term support for both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest. Both games will remain playable, with plans to introduce an offline mode in the future, a big deal considering the outcry players expressed when The Crew was brought offline and made unplayable for those who purchased the game.
As for new players, they can take advantage of significant discounts, with The Crew 2 starting at just 1$ for a limited time and up to 70% off for The Crew Motorfest. Additionally, The Crew 2 players can grab four vehicles for just one Crew Credit to start their adventures across land, air, and sea.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
