Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus officially announced by Insomniac Games

Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus logoInsomniac Games has finally revealed a new Ratchet and Clank game that's coming later this year for the PlayStation 3. Do we want another Ratchet & Clank game? Not too sure, but them going back to the game's original formula plus a reduced prices doesn't sound too bad.

With a new Ratchet & Clank game, comes new weapons and abilities. Weapons and gadgets include the Winterizer, Nightmare Box, Repulsor, Vortex Grenade, Grav Tether, Fusion Grenade and Nether Blades. Clank will get new abilities allowing him to alter gravity and manipulate objects to help solve puzzles in the game.

An announcement trailer was also released together with the reveal. Check the trailer below, because I'm not sure if it's just me but I think I saw some Portal 2 gameplay concepts in there.

But I think the best part of this reveal is that the new platformer will start at a generous price of $30, IGN reports. Kind of makes sense since I have a feeling this will land during the holidays, which means it will be in the middle of the next-gen console war.

Latest Fuse trailer just makes me miss Overstrike more

Fuse_Raven_Base_Maelstrom Fuse is an upcoming 4-player coop third-person action game being developed by Insomniac Games (Resistance, Ratchet and Clank). If you remember EA's 2011 press conference, this title was first revealed under the name Overstrike, but was sadly changed, and now we see a matured and a more military-like version of the game.

Now after seeing that trailer, you might think, "oh ok cool, a coop game". But if you saw what the game was when it was called Overstrike, your reaction to the trailer might be a bit different. check it out below.

Overstrike E3 2011 trailer

I'm not too sure what to say about the change in this new IP. The personality and style was completely scrapped, and with it now rebranded as Fuse, the once interesting concept has been replaced with a  more serious tone that I believe has been done too many times in shooters. If I had to pick only one game to be developed over Insomniac, it would be Overstrike in a heart beat.

Fuse is set for an early 2013 release for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
