E3 2011: Uncharted: Golden Abyss Gameplay (PS Vita)

One of the first games shown for the PS Vita back when it was revealed under the code name 'NGP'.

Nathan Drake takes his adventures over to the portable platform with a new game. Players can traverse the environment by either using the buttons or tapping ledges and stuff using the OLED touchscreen. Other touchscreen "minigames" such as scratching items to reveal hidden messages and solving puzzles kinda reminds me of a lot of DS shovelware.

It's gimmicky but as long as it doesn't hinder the rest of the game then I'm fine with it.

Just look at those graphics! And it'll be in the palm of your hand this holiday season when Sony releases the PS Vita.

E3 2011: The PS Vita is looking really good [prices and video line-up included]

Sony's successor the PSP is the next big thing in portable gaming. Sony could nto stop talking about this little piece of delicious hardware that will be living in your pocket.

With more than 80 games in development for the PS Vita and with publishers like EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, THQ and Activision working on them, how can you not be excited for it? Titles such as Uncharted, Wipeout, Little Big Planet, Modnation Racers, Super Stardust, Ruin and even Street Fighter x Tekken being announced and show during the Sony Press Conference. The starting line up of the PS Vita looks to be vast and varied and I like it.

There will be two models available on release. A WiFi only model and a 3G+WiFi model. Now here's the news that you've been waiting for, the prices.

Prices:

WiFi only model: $249.99 €259 ¥24,980

3G + WiFi model: $299.99 €299 ¥29,980

Pretty good deal if you ask me. I was scared it would exceed $300 so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Oh and did I mention that it's coming out this holiday season 2011?

E3 2011: Little Big Planet for the PS Vita [Update: with video]

Little Big Planet looks delicious for the Vita. This is how you do touch and title controls right. Being able to use the touch panels for the mini games / game creations, the back touch panel for the rear areas, tilt controls for to manipulate the environment, even the cameras to take pictures and use them to customize your sackboy.

The PSP Little Big Planet was a good game but felt nowhere near as fun as the PS3 version and did not do nearly as well either. This looks to be a solid portable Little Big Planet and one to say I am very excited about.

E3 2011: BioSHOCKS!

So Bioshock Infinite looks really orgasmic good and Ken Levine also said that it'll have PS Move support. But that's not the only thing he said. Ken Levine mentions that Bioshock has found another home. What does he doe after that? He pulls an NGP out of his pocket. Yes, Bioshock on the NGP. How can you NOT want one now?

Also, if you get Bioshock Infinite on the PS3, you get a free copy of Bioshock 1 on the same bluray disc. :D

Getting my PrE3 on!

"E3! Fuck yeah!"

In case you didn't know. The world's largest gaming convention, E3, is right around the corner. Game announcements, demos, trailers, new hardware, and the like are afoot.

Let's talk about some of the things that I'm excited about this year's E3. E3 2010 was won by Nintendo and their reveal of the 3DS, it was a great show and even though 3DS sales are waning at the moment, it is no doubt an impressive piece of gaming hardware. Nintendo usually brings out the craziest ideas when it comes to gaming innovation and with their new console, codenamed Project Cafe, and it's bizarre controller. Who know's, maybe they'll take the spot light again this year.

I'm curious to see what Ninento has planned with their new console and it's controller. Claiming to have a HD touchscreen on each, I keep being reminded of the Gamecube and GBA connection. You could also say the SEGA Dreamcast but c'mon, that VMU thing was horrible. Definitely looking forward to Nintendo's press con.

As for Wii games, I'm hoping for US trailers and release dates for The Last Story, the Wii RPG being handled by the father of Final Fantasy himself Hironobu Sakaguchi, and Xenoblade, that other Wii RPG that might have connections with Xenogears and the Xenosaga series. Hopefully we get an update about the fate of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I haven't heard anything about it since last year's E3 and remember what happened to Twilight Princess? It's around the same time again so history might repeat itself.

Another press conference that I am excited to see is Sony's. After the great PSN hack that happened recently, I'm very curious as to how Sony will address that. They can't NOT talk about it right? The NGP or the 'PS Vita' will obivously be making an apperance as this is Sony's next take on the handheld portabl gaming market.

Obviously I'm excited to see new trailers of games and new announcements are always good as well as release dates. But what about you? What specific games are you excited for at this year's E3? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

We'll be watching the live streams of the press conferences all week and we will cover as much as we can to keep you guys updated but for now have a fun weekend guys!
