E3 2011: XCOM E3 trailer

I don't think I've mentioned this but I am a huge XCOM fan and when i first saw the trailer way back and found out it has become an FPS title , i felt like breaking something. Why change it into a First Person Shooter??! Anyways, nothing can be done and we'll have to live with it some way.

Ok in an FPS point of view, i'm not sure whats unique yet about XCOM. The art I'll say looks good but this trailer shows a bit more gameplay but still not enough information  to wow me.

They revealed a release date though. It's coming out on March 9, 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Getting my PrE3 on!

"E3! Fuck yeah!"

In case you didn't know. The world's largest gaming convention, E3, is right around the corner. Game announcements, demos, trailers, new hardware, and the like are afoot.

Let's talk about some of the things that I'm excited about this year's E3. E3 2010 was won by Nintendo and their reveal of the 3DS, it was a great show and even though 3DS sales are waning at the moment, it is no doubt an impressive piece of gaming hardware. Nintendo usually brings out the craziest ideas when it comes to gaming innovation and with their new console, codenamed Project Cafe, and it's bizarre controller. Who know's, maybe they'll take the spot light again this year.

I'm curious to see what Ninento has planned with their new console and it's controller. Claiming to have a HD touchscreen on each, I keep being reminded of the Gamecube and GBA connection. You could also say the SEGA Dreamcast but c'mon, that VMU thing was horrible. Definitely looking forward to Nintendo's press con.

As for Wii games, I'm hoping for US trailers and release dates for The Last Story, the Wii RPG being handled by the father of Final Fantasy himself Hironobu Sakaguchi, and Xenoblade, that other Wii RPG that might have connections with Xenogears and the Xenosaga series. Hopefully we get an update about the fate of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I haven't heard anything about it since last year's E3 and remember what happened to Twilight Princess? It's around the same time again so history might repeat itself.

Another press conference that I am excited to see is Sony's. After the great PSN hack that happened recently, I'm very curious as to how Sony will address that. They can't NOT talk about it right? The NGP or the 'PS Vita' will obivously be making an apperance as this is Sony's next take on the handheld portabl gaming market.

Obviously I'm excited to see new trailers of games and new announcements are always good as well as release dates. But what about you? What specific games are you excited for at this year's E3? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

We'll be watching the live streams of the press conferences all week and we will cover as much as we can to keep you guys updated but for now have a fun weekend guys!

E3 2011: Soul Calibur V Gameplay Trailer

They just announced Soul Calibur V and I'm impressed that they were able to release a gameplay trailer for E3. Last time I heard about Soul Calibur V it was currently 10% compete and if this is the game at its early stages I can't wait for more gameplay footage as they get closer into finishing the game.

The game so far looks great. Game play seems more fast paced compared to previous games and it looks like their adding some super moves into the mix, very nice. With the additions of super moves, you'll see a lot more juggles now in Soul Calibur, which is not a bad thing. No release date yet, only information about release is that it will be out on 2012. Excited?

E3 2011: Dark Souls E3 Story trailer

Trailers galore! and this is still only  pre-E3 reveals. The E3 trailer reveal this time is for Dark Souls, The sequel to the 2009 RPG Demon's Souls. It gives us an idea on how the story will go.......well sorta. What really amazed me were those big baddies shown in this trailer. The first game had pretty hard and interesting bosses but this trailer shows that they stepped it up a notch with the sequel's bosses. Those monsters looked scary big and knowing that the difficulty will be similar to the first game(maybe harder), prepare to die a lot.

This trailer beats the rest and i can't wait for it! Dark Souls will be released on Oct 4, 2011 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

E3 2011: The Witcher 2 heading to the Xbox 360

The Witcher 2 is no longer exclusive to PC. CD Projekt just revealed that The Witcher 2 is heading to the Xbox 360. Finally, more people will get to experience this great game. With it being a PC exclusive on release and a very demanding game in terms of spec, people couldn't get The Witcher 2. A lot of console gamers were praying for a console release, well there ya go, your prayers have been answered.  Now that the console version is happening, can we ask for the Witcher 1 port too while their at it?

IGN interviewed John Mamais, executive producer at CD Projekt Red after the announcement to get more information about the console version.

The interview provided good information about this console port. The Witcher 2 just might be one of the best looking games out there and porting this massive game to the console will take time. They haven't announced a release date for the Xbox version but is aiming for an end of the year release. They won't be rushing this project since they aim to make the Xbox 360 version in par with the PC version in terms of graphics and performance.

Future DLC for the Witcher 2 will be included in the console version and any new cut scenes or content created for the 360 version will also be implemented for the PC all for free.

The Witcher 2's feel and play would fit perfectly in a 360 controller. It was planned to get a console version but they wanted to stay loyal to the PC community by focusing on the PC version first. it's understandable and this is great news indeed. I'm currently on Act 2 in The Witcher 2 and loving every minute of the game. So there, Xbox 360 owners, look out for the console version of The Witcher 2: assassin of Kings either next year or the end of 2011.
