E3 2013: The Walking Dead: 400 Days Trailer

the-walking-dead-400-days-01Let's be clear. This is NOT The Walking Dead: The Video Game Season 2. This is sort of an expansion. A side story, if you will. Focusing on 5 new characters with their own stories in one episode.

Choices you've made in Season 1 will carry over to The Walking Dead: 400 Days and the choices in that will show it's impact in season 2.

the-walking-dead-400-days-02The new episode is set to launch in next month for $5 and PC, Mac, XBLA, PSN and what caught me by surprisingle, iOS. The PSVita version will come out in August of this year and it will be bundled with the entire first season.

Some of you maybe not be pleased that this isn't season 2 but hey, I'm just glad that we're getting more Telltale Walking Dead action this early. And don't worry, season 2 is due out later this fall.

[Updated]Sony looks back at the evolution of PlayStation

playstation-logo [UPDATE] - A new video was released which focuses on the classic games of PlayStation.

Ever since Sony informed the world that they have a big announcement planned on February 20, they have been releasing YouTube videos looking back at the history of PlayStation,  making it more clear that this big meeting happening this week could potentially be the next PlayStation console reveal. Each video gives us a quick history lesson of how PlayStation has evolved through the years, talking about each hardware released so far.

The Beginning

PlayStation 2

PlayStation Portable and Playstation Vita

PlayStation 3

Evolution of PlayStation: Games

Sony is keeping quiet about this February 20 announcement but it's pretty clear at this point that we'll be seeing the next PlayStation. If not, then they sure fooled us. The PlayStation 3 was released in 2005, so another console coming in on 2013 sounds about right, what's surprising is that it's rumored to be available at the end of the year.

I'm ready for another PlayStation console. While I do think the PlayStation 3 has a couple of years left, It's about time we see a glimpse on how the next generation of gaming would look like in the future. For me, as long as it's not motion control heavy and still requires you to have a controller to play, I'm all good.

This big announcement is coming on February 20, 6PM Eastern Standard Time, which is February 21 at 6 AM in the Philippines.

Killzone: Mercenary for Vita gets a release date and a new trailer

KillzoneMercenaryVita Killzone: Mercenary, Sony's Killzone title for the PS Vita, gets a new trailer and a release date. It will launch on September 17 in North America and Europe. More details and the trailer after the break.

Killzone: Mercenary is being developed over at Guerilla Cambridge (LittleBigPlanet portable) and will be using the Killzone 3 engine.  It's set after the events of the first Killzone game and the players control mercenary and former UCA- soldier Arran Danner, who apparently is not on the Helghast or ISA side, he only thinks about his next paycheck.

The single player will contain nine missions each lasting about an hour-long. Multiplayer will be included of course and will support up to eight players (4v4) with six maps and three gameplay modes (Warzone, Team Deathmatch, Fee-For-All).

The FPS will have a currency system, where each kill and objective will reward the player money, which then can be used in the shop to buy new weapons, grenades, etc.

A Vita Killzone game was inevitable. Sadly none of the big franchises like COD or Assassin's Creed is seeing any success in the portable device, so hopefully Killzone entering the portable arena can fix that.
