PSN - Borderlands PS Plus September game, new discounts coming

PSN Plus Next update for PS Plus has been revealed. If you haven't played Borderlands and subscribed to PS Plus, you're in luck. Borderlands joins the "Instant Game Collection" this September, as long as you're a PS Plus member, you can download and start playing Borderlands for free. Good timing too with Borderlands 2 coming out in a few weeks.

If you want to get the whole Borderlands package, all DLC content for the game will be 50% off. If you feel like getting only a DLC or two instead of the whole bundle, I suggest getting Claptrap's Robot Revolution and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, best DLC's among the four available.

Together with Borderlands, the update include some discounts:

Lights, Camera, Party! - Regular price: $29.99, PS Plus price: $15.00

Gamescom 2012: Remember Me - Capcom's newest IP

Remember Me Capcom revealed their latest IP at Gamescom called Remember Me,a futuristic action title set in Neo-Paris in the year 2084. You play the role as Nilin, a memory hunter that has the ability to enter people's mind to either steal or manipulate ones memories. She gets her own memories erased and is now in search on who she is.

Announcement Trailer

Remember Me's gameplay focuses on melee combat and some Uncharted-like climbing. Stealing and manipulating memories is also part of the core gameplay. Right after the announcement trailer was revealed, a 7 minute gameplay video was released showing you a memory hunter at work.

7-minute gameplay

First look of Remember Me was shown way back in last year's Gamescom with a working title ADRIFT during 2011 and only teased people with concept art of Neo-Paris.

Remember Me is being developed by a newly formed French studio called Dontnod Entertainment. Remember Me is scheduled for a May 2013 release and will be on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

It's looking pretty good. The plot and setting remind me of the movie Total Recall. What sets it apart is the whole memory stealing and changing memories, which I'm curious to see what else we could do with this ability. Capcom

Gamescom 2012: Dead Space 3 Gamescom trailer

Dead Space 3 During Gamescom 2012, EA released a new trailer for Dead Space 3 showing that Necromorphs are back and Isaac really can't take a break from the horror. Not too happy with the addition of co-op but this trailer game me a glimpse of hope that they retained the horror we love from this franchise. Check the trailer below.

Along with the trailer, they revealed the game's official release date. You get to stomp on corpses again on February 5, 2013 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Only 42% of Mass Effect 3 players actually completed the game

During a Game Developers Conference in Europe Bioware shared interesting statistics regarding Mass Effect 3. Only 42% of players that started a Mass Effect 3 game actually completed it. They also revealed that more players finished Mass Effect 2 than Mas Effect 3.

Mass Effect 2 has a higher completion rate at this point with 56%. Bioware noticed a surge in the stats for the second game since a lot of players were preparing their save file for the third game.

It's been nearly five months since Mass Effect 3 was released. The game received positive reception and was the game to talk about even after a few weeks of release thanks to the game's ending. The game's community had such a negative reaction to how Bioware ending the series, to the point that the developers actually made an extended cut of the ending to give hardcore fans some closure, free of cost of course. In the end, the people that forced an extended cut from Bioware was actually 42% of the player base. But what happened to the rest?

Backlog happens. People tend to forget about games because of other releases, or simply because they just don't want to continue anymore. But I wonder though - among the 58% of players that haven't finished Mass Effect 3, did the negative reaction in the game's ending affect their decision to not finish?

I wouldn't be surprise if there was a handful. I actually know a friend who did not buy the game because fans hated the ending, and decided to wait for the extended cut promised by Bioware. And yes, he was a hardcore fan.

Mass Effect 3 is an amazing game, but the fact that your impression about a game is defined solely on the last 20 minutes of the game is a bit too much. I had my problems with the ending even after the extended cut(I think it made it worse), but it's still one of the best games I've played this year.
